Center Introduction

Promoting Holistic Development for Healthy Longevity through Interdisciplinary Research

The “Center for Healthy Longevity and Aging Sciences” at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University aims to promote the holistic development of a society focused on healthy longevity. By integrating interdisciplinary technologies for multifaceted research, the center employs a “Life-Course Approach” to unify research teams across campuses. The goal is to develop comprehensive aging science research and applications that are concretely implemented in healthcare, caregiving, community, and living environments. This approach aims to reduce the period of unhealthy life expectancy, ultimately achieving the overall goal of sustainable development for a society with healthy longevity.

In line with this mission, the center integrates research teams from various university departments and institutes to establish a research platform encompassing fields such as aging biology, clinical medicine, nursing, information technology, artificial intelligence, medical imaging, public health, and public policy. The aim is to advance aging science and promote healthy longevity through interdisciplinary research.

The focus of our research encompasses four major fields, including:

01

The biomedical mechanisms for enhancing intrinsic capabilities across organ systems

02

Innovative digital biomarkers for assessing changes in individual intrinsic capabilities

03

Development of community-based health and longevity implementation science grounded in empirical evidence and technological innovation

04

Establishment of a new model for health and longevity in Asia through international research collaboration
